Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 8, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Rolo ("we," "us," or "our"). Rolo is a digital business card platform operated via the website rolo.network and related subdomains (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, create an account, use our Service, or interact with us in any other way.
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you register for an account, create or edit a digital business card, subscribe to a paid plan, or contact us, you may provide:
- Full name, job title, company name, and professional information
- Email address, phone number, and physical address
- Profile photo or company logo
- Social media links and website URLs
- Custom domain information (for Tier 2 subscribers)
- Payment and billing information (processed securely via Stripe; we do not store full credit card numbers)
- Any other information you choose to include on your digital business card
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Service, we may automatically collect:
- Device and browser information (e.g., device type, operating system, browser type and version)
- IP address and approximate geolocation
- Usage data, including pages visited, features used, clicks, time spent on pages, and referring URLs
- QR code scan data and digital card share events (e.g., when, how, and with whom your card is shared)
- Log data and error reports
- Cross-domain activity between rolo.network and rolo.fyi via Google Analytics
2.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and improve performance. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may impair functionality.
Specifically, we use the following cookies:
- _ga cookie: Used by Google Analytics 4 for visitor identification. This cookie helps us understand how visitors interact with the Service by distinguishing unique users.
- _rolo_gclid cookie: Stores a Google Ads click identifier for advertising attribution purposes. This cookie expires after 90 days.
We use Google Analytics cross-domain linking between rolo.network and rolo.fyi to provide a unified view of user activity across both domains. This means your browsing session may be tracked continuously as you move between the marketing site and the application.
2.4 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party services you connect to your account, from payment processors (Stripe), and from analytics providers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- To create and manage your account and digital business card(s)
- To process transactions, manage subscriptions, and send related billing communications
- To enable features such as custom domains, QR code generation, email signatures, and publicly visible profiles
- To personalize your experience and provide tailored content
- To communicate with you regarding account activity, service updates, security alerts, and support requests
- To send you promotional and marketing communications, but only where you have provided your express opt-in consent (see Section 5 below)
- To monitor and analyze usage trends, performance, and engagement to improve the Service
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
4. Public Profiles and Shared Information
By design, certain information you include on your digital business card — such as your name, job title, company, contact details, social links, and profile photo — is intended to be publicly accessible. Your card is reachable via a unique URL (e.g., yourname.rolo.fyi) and may also be accessible via QR code or custom domain.
If you participate in the Rolo professional networking directory, your profile information may be displayed publicly in directory listings. You control what information appears on your card and profile, and you may edit or remove information at any time through your dashboard.
Please exercise caution when deciding what personal information to include on your public-facing card and profile.
4.1 Lead Capture and Contact Form Data
Card pages may include a "Get in Touch" contact form. When a visitor submits this form, the information provided (name, email, phone, company, and message) is stored and shared with the card owner so they can follow up.
Visitors may also opt in to receive marketing communications from Rolo by checking the optional consent checkbox on the contact form. This consent is separate from the card owner's relationship with the visitor and is governed by this Privacy Policy.
Rolo will only send marketing communications to visitors who have expressly opted in. You may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at team@rolo.fyi.
5. Marketing Communications and Opt-In Consent
We will only send you promotional or marketing emails if you have expressly opted in to receive them. You may opt in during account registration, through your account settings, or via a specific marketing opt-in prompt within the Service.
Marketing communications may include:
- Product announcements, new features, and updates
- Tips for optimizing your digital business card and professional presence
- Promotional offers, discounts, and referral programs
- Newsletters and curated professional content
You may withdraw your consent and opt out of marketing communications at any time by:
- Clicking the "unsubscribe" link included in every marketing email
- Updating your communication preferences in your account settings
- Contacting us at team@rolo.fyi
Opting out of marketing communications will not affect transactional or service-related messages (e.g., billing receipts, security alerts, account notifications), which are necessary for the operation of your account.
Visitors who submit the contact form on a card page may also opt in to receive marketing communications from Rolo. This is separate from account-holder marketing consent. Both types of consent can be withdrawn independently at any time.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including Stripe (payment processing), cloud database hosting providers, email delivery providers, and analytics services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Public Profile Data: Information you include on your digital business card and directory profile is publicly accessible by design, as described in Section 4.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.
With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes.
Aggregated and anonymized data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement purposes.
8. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, secure authentication protocols, regular security assessments, and access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your data
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing under certain circumstances
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time (see Section 5)
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at team@rolo.fyi. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To submit a request, contact us at team@rolo.fyi.

12. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at team@rolo.fyi.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you access through or in connection with our Service.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on the Service with a revised effective date, and where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
